Ingredients

Strawberry Simple Syrup

Strawberry Matcha Latte

  • 1 cup milk of choice
  • 1-2 tablespoons strawberry simple syrup depending on desired sweetness
  • handful of ice
  • 1 teaspoon ceremonial grade matcha
  • 2 ounces hot water, not boiling or ¼ cup

Instructions

Strawberry Simple Syrup

  • Make the strawberry syrup by stirring the sugar and water on the stove until the sugar has dissolved. Reduce the heat to medium and add in the chopped strawberries. Simmer for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  • Place a fine mesh strainer over a jar and pour the strawberry syrup through, but don't press down on the strawberries. This causes the syrup to become cloudy. Let the syrup cool completely, then store it in the fridge for at least an hour before using it.

Strawberry Matcha Latte

  • Pour your milk of choice into the bottom of a tall glass, pour in the strawberry syrup, stir together and then add in the ice.
  • Prepare the matcha by placing a fine mesh sieve over a small bowl. Push the matcha powder through to get rid of any clumps then pour in the hot, but not boiling water.
  • Use a matcha whisk in an "M" motion back and forth until you have a frothy green mixture. Now pour in the whisked matcha and serve immediately.
